John Carpenter's Prequel: The Thing

After 30 years since it was first launched, John Carpenter's THE THING gets prequelized. The prequel tells about an American graduate student who heads to the Antarctic to join a Norwegian team of scientists.

The team has accidently discovered an alien-like creature buried in the ice, first they thought it was dead but the the alien is pretty much alive. While trying to help the alien that buried in the ice, there is something else in this huge no one land. It's a parasite that can imitate anything it touches and it favors men to survive and breed.

Joel Edgerton co-stars as a chopper pilot who helps Winstead, with newcomer Matthijs Van Heijningen Jr. making his directorial debut from a script by BATTLESTAR GALACTICA's Ronald D. Moore and Eric Heisserer.

The Thing complete casts are starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton, Eric Christian Olsen, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. This movie is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on 14 October 2011.
