The Runaways focuses on the band's formation, and their meteoric rise to fame. The Runaways formed by teenage girls Joan Jett, Cherie Currie, Lita Ford and Kim Fowley. The screenplay was adapted by Floria Sigismondi, based on the autobiography written by Cherie Currie, Neon Angel: The Cherie Currie Story, in 1989.
The movie chronicles from 1975 - 1977, as a group of rock band whose members are all women, they faced some common issue experienced by many other great bands, the members of The Runaways began to experience alienation and burnout after they getting more and more popular.
The Runaways, directed by Floria Sigismondi starring many talented young stars such as Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, also Oscar-nominated actor, Michael Shannon. Other casts are Stella Maeve and Scout Taylor-Compton. The film was distributed by River Road Entertainment and will be released in 2010.
This movie will be the second movie for Kristen Stewart, besides "Welcome to the Rileys" which will be premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
