The Crazies

This movie is a remake of George Romero's 1973 classic same title The Crazies. The trailer released is quite promising from its thrilling and horror aspects. This movie is directed by Breck Eisner and screenplay by Ray Wright & Scott Kosar, hits theaters on February 26, 2010.

The plot is about David Dutton (Timothy Olyphant) one sheriff of Ogden Marsh, a little perfect American town with blissful, obedient citizens. All things suddenly change within one night where one of them comes to a school baseball game with a loaded shotgun. Another man burns down his own house after locking his wife and young son in a closet inside.

Thing get worst just within days, the town has changed into a horrible asylum; people who days ago lived calm, routine lives have now become corrupted, some turns to blood-thirsty killers, hiding in the darkness with knives and guns. Sheriff Dutton tries to fit of what's happening as the terrible, irrational hostility rises. Something is infecting the citizens of Ogden Marsh with insanity, it later find out all are caused by some of the accidental release of a military biological weapon upon the inhabitants of this town.

The tension increase when the uninfected try to escape as the government has isolated this town, the government has ordered the town to be quarantined. The few still sane now find themselves trapped, there are Sheriff Dutton and his pregnant wife, Judy (Radha Mitchell); Becca (Danielle Panabaker), an assistant at the medical center; and Russell (Joe Anderson), Dutton's deputy and right-hand man. Forced to band together, an ordinary night turns out to be sickening fights for survival as this group do their best to get out of town alive.
