War-weary, former military captain John Carter is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris.
In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
This film is also known as A Princess of Mars, John Carter of Mars. This Action/Adventure will be released on March 9th, 2012 (wide). Distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.
This film marks director Andrew Stanton's first foray into live-action after working on Pixar's Finding Nemo and WALL-E, among others. Starring Thomas Haden Church as Hajus, Lynn Collins as Dejah Thoris, Taylor Kitsch as John Carter, Samantha Morton as Sola, Dominic West as Sab Than and Polly Walker as Sarkoja.
