Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol

Mission Impossible is back this December. The plot: Blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, IMF operative Ethan Hunt is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates "Ghost Protocol".

Left without any resources or backup, Ethan must find a way to clear his agency's name and prevent another attack.
To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow IMF fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Sherlock Holmes has always been the smartest man in the room until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large, Professor Moriarty and not only is he Holmes' intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective.

When the Crown Prince of Austria is found dead, the evidence, as construed by Inspector Lestrade points to suicide. But Sherlock Holmes deduces that the prince has been the victim of murder, a murder that is only one piece of a larger and much more portentous puzzle, designed by one Professor Moriarty. Mixing business with pleasure, Holmes tracks the clues to an underground gentlemen's club, where he and his brother, Mycroft Holmes are toasting Dr. Watson on his last night of bachelorhood.

It is there that Holmes encounters Sim, a Gypsy fortune teller, who sees more than she is telling and whose unwitting involvement in the prince's murder makes her the killer's next target. Holmes barely manages to save her life and, in return, she reluctantly agrees to help him. The investigation becomes ever more dangerous as it leads Holmes, Watson and Sim across the continent, from England to France to Germany and finally to Switzerland.

But the cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead as he spins a web of death and destruction, all part of a greater plan that, if he succeeds, will change the course of history.

The Adventures of Tintin International Trailer

Steven Spielberg's cinematic adaptation of Hergé's Tintin series is becoming more and more natural. Just watch the new trailer for The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn that gives fans their first decent introduction to the film's cast. Below you can find (and of course watch) new trailer of this film).

The new trailer does a solid job of establishing the adventurous spirit of reporter Tintin, his dog Snowy and their eventual friend Captain Haddock as they're swept up in the hunt for the Unicorn, a near-legendary ship that's treasure was lost in battle during the 17th century.

Jamie Bell also seems to do the conventionally cute-looking Tintin some serious animated justice in this trailer by delivering a confident tone consistent with the character's comic book personality. The dude may be a skinny reporter with a small dog, but it's great to see he'll be suitably scrappy when called for.

New Year's Eve

My Week with Marilyn

This film tells the story of Colin Clark spending a week in the life of Marilyn Monroe, in which she escapes the shackles of her Hollywood career. Directed by Simon Curtis and produced by David Parfitt, the film is based on Colin Clark’s diaries and has been adapted for the screen by Adrian Hodges.

In the early summer of 1956, 23 year-old Colin Clark, just down from Oxford and determined to make his way in the film business, worked as a lowly assistant on the set of ‘The Prince and the Showgirl’, the film that famously united Sir Laurence Olivier and Marilyn Monroe, who was also on honeymoon with her new husband, the playwright Arthur Miller.

Nearly 40 years on, his diary account ‘The Prince, the Showgirl and Me’ was published, but one week was missing and this was published some years later as ‘My Week with Marilyn’ – this is the story of that week. But one week of honesty and fun was not enough to save the doomed star from self-destruction.

Arthur Christmas
