Nine - One man must find the magic!

In 2002 director Rob Marshall brought us the musical movie Chicago, it was from Broadway Theater to big screen. This movie was not only a huge commercial success (generating more than U.S. $ 300 million) but it was respected by many movie critics won many film festivals, including the Academy Awards, where Chicago had won 6 categories from 7 nominations, including Best Picture. Chicago is the first musical since Oliver! in 1968 that won Best Picture category.

Continue his brilliant work in directing musicals movie, Marshall chose to direct the film version of Nine, a playwright who has won Tony Awards for Best Musical in 1982. This movie is about Guido Contini, a famous film director who is facing his 40 birthday with his mid-life crisis. Nine also tells his love life, who is surrounded by many women.

From the cast, this movie is starring so many Oscar winners’ actors and actress. Playing Guido Contini is Daniel Day-Lewis. You will also see Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman (Nine will be the second musical after Kidman Moulin Rouge!), Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard (who had just won an Oscar by the film La Vie en Rose), Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Sophia Loren and Stacy Ferguson (or, perhaps more widely known as Fergie of the group The Black Eyed Peas).

Nine shooting was commenced its filming on September 28, 2008 under The Weinstein Company and Relativity Media. This movie has already been shown on big screens worldwide since Dec 25th, 2009. This movie has been nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy in 2010 Golden Globe Awards.
